Hello Everybody,

I hope everyone had a good, successful hunting season. I had a wonderful time elk hunting in 16A, but I came home like I usually do… empty-handed. I want to thank everyone for what turned out to be a nice season at the range, especially after what we went through with the county at the beginning of the year.

We only have three shoots left for the year. The Doug VanOostrum World Invitational Coon Shoot will be on October 29th starting about dark thirty so bring your flashlights, the Halloween 3D will be October 30th with registration beginning at 7:30AM, and the Thanksgiving 3D will be November 20th with registration beginning at 7:30AM.

We are doing something new this year for the Thanksgiving shoot that the board is very excited about. We are going to have our first annual 3D Shoot for the Hungry. The concept is that everyone who comes will bring food with them to donate to one of the local food banks. Pricing for the shoot will be a little bit different than normal. For adults who bring 10 cans of food, the price will be $7 per person for members and $10 per person for non-members. Youth will be $5 with 10 cans of food, and cubs and mini-cubs will be free with 5 cans of food per person. We would like to see this be a major success for the club and something that we can continue for a long time, so come out and shoot for a good cause on this one.

One more thing that comes with the end of the shoot season is the elections for the Board of Directors next year. There will be several positions open next season and we would encourage anyone interested to throw their name in the hat. Contact myself or any of the other board members if you have any questions about running. A few positions will for sure need to be filled including President, Vice President, and Secretary. Come out and vote on the folks that will run OUR club next year.
